Growing...

Baby Madi sleeps like a tree frog. She is all about 'Spread Eagle.' She's so small, cute and tiny - she can snore pretty loud, just like her Daddie!!!

Baby Madi's cheeks are beginning to get chubby - very pinch-able. She is starting to smile more and more. I can't wait til she starts laughing and giggling. When she starts walking and talking back to me. Oh God...

Last night was an all time record, she slept for a little over 4 hours!!! She was fed 4 ounces before bed time, what a piggy!!! She started off only drinking an ounce the first week, 2 ounces the second week and 3 ounces now. She's growing so fast...

Finally, I am starting to look like myself again. While I was preggy, I looked hideous. My face was sooooooo big and bloated, it looked like the moon. Somehow, I looked very different from now, which is a very good thing. As for the rest of my body, it's all flabby and wriggly. I guess I just need to take it one day at a time. Hopefully I will shrink back to my pre-pregnancy body again. Otherwise, I'm just going to have to buy more clothes. NO, I am not giving away ANY clothes I currently cannot fit.

Getting Bigger...

Baby Madi is growing everyday. She's a piggy. I started to feed her 40cc two weeks ago, she's at 90cc this week!!! She is getting heavier!!!

People told me that the reason why she sleeps the way she does is because she feels secure.

Baby Madi is badddd... she's not good with guests. When we have guests over, she won't sleep, she stays up... she wants to be held, doesn't matter who! She's so naughty around Daddie. She wants Daddie to hold her all the time!!! She cries and cries, but on Monday to Friday, she wastes no tears on Mommie. She totally ignores me... she eats, then sleep.

Finally, last night was the first night that she slept for 4 hours straight, which was a big load off me. I feed her well enough during the day and a big bottle before bed time, she's good!!! I can't wait to sleep through the night.

Learning Curve...

Her umbilical stump finally fell off. It actually fell off last Sunday before bathtime! It looks like a raisin...

Baby Madi is learning. She started to cry when I didn't pick her up. I would pick her up, rock her in my arms, she'd fall asleep in my arms, I'd put her in her crib and she would wake up in 5 minutes, crying!!! It all started on Monday. Until last night, I was just too exhausted to pick her up everytime she fussed. So, we let her cry herself to sleep!!! It was so heartbreaking for both Dave and I. I've never heard such sad and disappointing cries. After last night, it was a much nicer day today. I would feed her, change her and put her back in her crib... barely any cries.

The discipling starts now and here. I want to teach her and train her to be independent, but in a nurturing and loving way. If we spoil her now, the habit is going to be harder to break. I can't wait to take her out shopping or out to have tea with friends without screaming and crying. No one wants to hang out with a CRY BABY, especially a Mommie that has a CRY BABY! No one likes a SUCKY FACE!!!

It's been the most tiring two weeks of my life so far... When will it get easier?

Everyday...

Excuse the pink background, it's our bed sheet... I know, it's hideous looking; but, she makes the picture look so PERFECT!!!

She's generally a happy baby waking up, unless she is starving... she's a BIG grouch.

We are discovering new things about Baby Madi everyday. When you touch her left ear, she smiles and sticks out her tongue. What a goofster!!!

Nevertheless, Daddie always makes extra time weaving through traffic so he could just spend a few extra minutes with Baby Madi. She's so lucky to have a Mommie and Daddie who love each other so much - oh yeah, they love her, too!

The nights are still sleepless and days are endless. I can't imagine a day without Baby Madi. I love watching her sleep, making her funny little faces and new discoveries.

She is becoming a little spoiled around us, demanding more of our attention. She loves to be held, she loves to lay on Daddie's chest and cry to Mommie. She loves to sleep on OUR bed. It's gonna be hard when it's time to kick her off the bed.

We can't be any happier, being blessed with such a beautiful baby girl who smiles! Who is happy to be in our lives... this is just gonna make our NEW family stronger. She has changed our lives, all of our lives... making it better everyday!

anal Mommie

I never thought I'd be so anal. I thought I would kick back, let my mom in law and housekeeper take care of the baby. As it turns out, I am a WORRY FREAK!!!

I have to wash and sterilize everything myself because the housekeeper doesn't wash her hands before handling the baby equipment, which is totally GROSS. Plus, she doesn't do a meticulous job changing her diaper, which could cause a diaper rash.

I completely trust my mom in law handling the baby because I know she loves Baby Madi to death. Especially bath duty, it's their special time together - which gives me time to take a shower! The other day, the housekeeper asked my mom in law if she could bathe the baby... my mom in law was like, 'NO.' Baby duty - take a number... everyone is lining up to take care of Baby Madi!!!

She's so lucky and blessed to have so many people love her so much... so so so so so much. She's well fed, every 2 hours... bathed daily, rocked and hugged, fresh diapers on all the time and lots of hugs and kisses from her Daddie!

nap time...

This little Houdini gets out of her receiving blanket all the time... btw, she has socks c0vering her little hands bc baby mitts NEVER stay on!!! She loves to touch her little face, a little too much! She must think she's BEAUTIFUL, vain...

She's so funny... she is like Mommie and Daddie - she sleeps with her mouth open, drool!!!

The best part is when she yawns and her mouth is shaped like an 'O.'

Our Saturday afternoons are spent like this...
Baby Madi loves to sleep on her Daddie.

This is Baby Madi & Daddie's special time together!!! (they're both PIGS)

I think Daddie enjoys the nap times more than Baby Madi.

More LOVE...

I'm telling you... this is a funny little girl with a million different expressions. I love all her silly little faces. I'm always waiting to see what she's gonna do next...

She looks like Daddie, snores like Daddie, smells like Daddie (she smells good), even acts like Daddie (in the best possible way), but I kid you not - she sleeps like her Mommie all the way... her arms flung all over the place - YES, she kicks the blanket, and when she's being swaddled, she breaks out like Houdini!!!

Daddie loves her to bits and pieces - nap time and burping time is 'their' special time together! She is especially good around her Daddie!!!

I love seeing Dave cuddle with Baby Madi. He's got fatherly instincts... I can't emphasize on how amazing he is with Madi. I can't give enough credit to Dave - how great and amazing of a Daddie that he is!!! Of course I love him more, but she doesn't need to know that!

LOVE...

Life as a baby is awesome. Dave is doing such an amazing job at burping baby Madi, they totally adore each other. Grandma has been super helpful, she LOVES baby Madi more than anything else in the world. Of course baby Madi's Mommie LOVES HER EVEN MORE, but not as much as Madi's Daddy, but she doesn't need to know that now!

I feel like I'm a zombie, I sleep in between feedings. She needs to be fed every 2 hours, changed and burped. Baby Madi is amazing during the night; during the day, she wants me to hold her and she wants to be nursed every hour!!! The schedule at night time is going awesome, she's just being a spoiled brat during the day.

At least she's not a CRY BABY!!! So far, she's good about it... let's hope it stays that way!

I think both Dave and I are so lucky to have such a cute and amazing baby. At the same time, she's super lucky to have two parents who love her to bits and pieces (she's luckiest one among us).

Not to mention that her Mommie's family in SF loves baby Madi sooooooooo much. Grandma is going to visit baby Madi on August 20th and Grandpa is going to visit on October 20th. Hopefully Uncle Aaron and Aunt Lori will be able to visit during Christmas with many presents!!!

Let's hope she won't grow up too fast!!!

I'm here...

Hi Everyone,

Baby Madison is finally here!!! She's very cute, I'm not just saying that bc she's my baby!!! She has a cone head and she looks like Dave; she's too adorable!!!

Here's the story... we got to the hospital on July 2nd midnight and she popped out at 743am... the 7ish hours felt like 7 days! They gave me drugs... the greedy little me asked for more and they gave me lots more, so much I threw up (Dave gave me a bag w/a whole in it)!!! I didn't feel the lower part of my body at all for a while. The nurses were driving me nuts, telling me to push when I couldn't feel anything. So, we had to wait til the epidural to wear off before I could push her out!!! When the epidural wore off, it hurt like crazy!!! I begged the doctor to perform a c-section but he wouldn't... Luckily, I was only in the birthing room for less than 30 minutes. It was so painful, I thought I was going to die, I just wanted to go home...

To do it again, I don't know... we'll see.

Dave and I miss sleeping, a lot. I've been waking up every 2 hours to feed her!! It was a lot of pain, I hope it's all worth it!!!

Love, Dave, Leanne, and Madison
